Southwater Community Police Office

Pioneering Initiative

Opened in September 1996, the Southwater Community Police Office is a unique facility for Southwater, set up and run by volunteers from the Community. The team of over 20 volunteers have been trained by the police force to deal with a wide range of duties including passing on information to the police from the public, filling out crime reports, property marking, fielding queries and acting as a link between the public, local beat officers, PCSO’s and Sussex Police.

Visitors to the office may wish to report a crime or simply want directions to the nearest garage. We give out leaflets on securing houses and gardens, beating bogus callers and scams, arbitration schemes, domestic violence and drug information.

Volunteers Needed!

We are currently looking to recruit some new volunteers so if you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to get involved, go to www.sussex.police.uk and follow the links to volunteers, or pop into the office to chat with one of the team about the role.

Our opening hours are:

Monday - Friday 09:30 - 12:30 and 14:30 - 17:00
