At the end of 2020, we all needed a little light in our lives. As the dark nights set in, the village was illuminated by the fabulous and festive array of Christmas Lights.

We teamed up with Local Co-op Member Pioneer (and ex- Southwater News Editor!) Caroline Paul to run the Southwater Illuminated challenge, inviting villagers to enter their festive lights into the competition to find the best display in the village. All entries were compiled together to create a map of all of the lights and displays, that was enjoyed by villagers on their evening walks.

After receiving nearly 70 entries, it was an almost impossible task to narrow down the winners. Every entry brought festive joy to the village and we would like to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed to the fantastic collection of lights and decorations. After many walks around the village, the judging panel of Sam Cooper (Southwater News Editor), Caroline Paul and Paul Davies (Main sponsor of the event, Director of At Home Estate and Lettings Agency, as well as About Mortgages)
