Update from the Southwater W.I. June 2022

Well, summer is well and truly marching towards us after what can only be described as an absolutely glorious spring. I don’t know about you but I don’t think I can ever remember such a colourful April/May. In amongst all this our talk about bee keeping was truly fascinating. And then our session on the Sussex Search and Rescue followed by the Defibrillator in May was very informative and of course useful.

Now of course we’re keeping everything we have crossed for good weather over the Jubilee Bank Holiday. Some nice weather would certainly come in handy for that! By the sounds of it Southwater will be buzzing with activity. We have splashed out on a new, super-duper gazebo which will make its maiden outing on the Ghyll Playing Fields on Saturday June 4th. We’ve got some things planned for all age groups and are looking forward to having a really nice, sociable afternoon.

Later in June, on Wednesday June 29th, we’ll be having our annual picnic in the park. You can find us by the beach - with our gazebo - at 7.00pm. Do come if you want a nice, relaxed evening. You don’t have to be a member just pop along and meet the gang. If it’s wet, we’ll be in the Village Hall - having an indoor picnic (without the gazebo!). Our meeting at the end of July will be our annual quiz, so get those brain cells cranked into gear. Alternatively, come along with a beverage of your choice, some snacks and just relax.
