Southwater W.I. Update
Well, I have to say that June certainly started with a bang with all the Jubilee Celebrations in Southwater. If you wondered who decorated the outside of the Village Hall and the War Memorial that was us. On Saturday the W.I. erected the brand-new gazebo at The Jubilee Jamboree and we didn’t have to hold it down! In fact, after a very indifferent start to the day the sun shone for the whole afternoon. Can you believe it? Karen did face painting and “tattoos” for the children and Jackie organised our “Queen of Stamps”, a picture of the Queens Head made up of real stamps with, of course, the Queen’s head on them. This is going to be exhibited in Beason House. Mel knitted 9 corgis to be found in exchange for a prize. They were so good that several people clearly thought they were the prize!
At the time of writing this the weather is a bit inclement so I’m hoping that when you read this, we will have had a sunny evening for our picnic. If not, we will have had a great time in the Village Hall regardless. And in July we have Tracy’s Annual Quiz to look forward to, so bring your refreshments and your thinking caps! In August we usually have an informal meeting and this year we going to have a Tea Party for Breast Cancer – in the evening. Please come along to any of these, you know that we’d love to see you!
